The case against plastic on your face
Here's the thing about plastic sunglasses:
They're made from petroleum. Yes, the same stuff that comes out of the ground and powers your car. Fashion brands take crude oil, turn it into acetate or polycarbonate, mold it into frames, slap a logo on it, and charge you $200-$400.
Then when you sit on them (and you will), they crack into pieces that will outlive your grandchildren. Plastic sunglasses take 450+ years to decompose. They end up in landfills, oceans, and the stomachs of sea turtles.

Wood Is the Opposite of All That
Wood is renewable. It grows back. It absorbs CO2 while it's growing. When a pair of Woodies eventually reaches the end of its life, it biodegrades. Returns to the earth. Circle of life, Simba.
Every pair of Woodies is handmade from real wood — walnut, zebra, ebony, or bamboo. No petroleum. No acetate. No plastic frames pretending to be "eco-friendly" because they painted them green.

What 500,000 Pairs of Woodies Did for the Planet
Since 2012, we've sold over half a million pairs. That's half a million pairs of plastic sunglasses that were never made. Here's what that means in real numbers:
Every time someone buys a pair of Woodies instead of plastic Ray-Bans, that's 30 grams of petroleum-based plastic that never gets made, shipped, and eventually dumped in a landfill or ocean.
